In this video I go over how to use the Elektron Octatrack to DJ with an external mixer like the Pioneer DJM-800. This is part 2 of a series on what steps you need to take in order to get your Elektron Octatrack and other gear ready for your DJ Set. The Elektron Octatrack is an audio and MIDI pattern sequencer/sampler with eight tracks of each type. With the Elektron Octatrack s flexibility, you can have fun and Spice Up your DJ Sets.

HERE ARE THE STEPS:
Step 1: The Audio from the Elektron Octatrack gets routed to the desired channel of the DJ Mixer. In this case it was routed to Channel 4.
This will carry the Dry Signal of the Elektron Octatrack, and the Octatrack Effects.
Step 2: The audio from the Cue output will be routed to the desired channel of the DJ Mixer. In this case it will be routed to Channel 1. This will carry the mangled signal from the sounds going through the external effects. You can use your own external effects.
Step 3: In order to do everything through the Elektron Octatrack you would use Track 7 and 8 as through engines and use the Cue Out to send the percussive elements to the external effects and back in through Input A+B and C+D.

Doepfer A-124 Wasp Filter Unboxing

In this video I do an unboxing of the Doepfer A-124 Wasp Filter, and show you what I got in the box delivered from Perfect Circuit. This is a Doepfer Special Edition A-124 VCF Wasp Filter module, Is a multi-mode filter that sounds dirty in a good way. The Doepfer A-124 Wasp Filter has a 12dB filter based on the filter circuit found in the Vintage synth EDP Wasp analog synthesizer. The Wasp Filter uses the mix knob to select the right balance of LPF, BPF and HPF operation. With two audio outputs and dual CV inputs, there’s a lot of potential and creativity in the Doepfer A-124 VCF5 Wasp Filter.

In this video I do a review of the Mutable Instruments Yarns, and show you what I like about this Eurorack module. Mutable Instruments Yarns is a MIDI to CV converter interface providing up to 4 channels of very accurate CV/Gate conversion, which can be assigned to up to 4 voices.
2 and 4-voice modes are available both in a “polyphonic” and “multitimbral” flavor. The former receives chords from one single MIDI channel and dispatches them to the voices; while the later provides independent monophonic parts – which can be addressed to different MIDI channels, keyboard ranges, or even velocity levels.
Each part can generate sequences either through an arpeggiator/euclidean sequencer combo; or with a SH-101 style sequencer with step-by-step recording.
Mutable Instruments Yarns module can sync to an external MIDI clock, and generate a clock/reset output at any subdivisions of the MIDI clock.

I became a fan of Elektron Machines when in 2015 I got my first one, the Elektron Analog Four (Change) and since then I have never looked back. And in 2018 I traded in my Native Instruments Maschine for the Elektron Octatrack and the change was just awesome!
